Mike Bayne - Founder and Owner
Mike is an avid aviator having accumulated a total of 4700+ hours in his flying career, with more than 3000 of those hours coming in Diamond Aircraft as a regional sales representative for NEW Diamond Aircraft.
Mike holds an ATP certificate with multi-engine rating and IFR endorsements. His passion for aviation is evident in discussions with his clients, many of whom now regard him as a good friend as well as aviation business consultant.
Mike has experienced flying from a wide variety of aircraft cockpits including Diamond's, Columbia's, Cessna's, Piper Seneca's and Saratoga's, Bonanza's, B58 Baron's, King Air C90's and B200's.
One of the aircraft Mike most enjoyed flying was a 1992 Super Decathlon which he owned and flew primarily for aerobatic training. Mike previously owned a partnership interest in a North American T-6G model advanced trainer which he enojyed flying around the Virginia countryside and to aviation events.
A previous member of the National Capital Squadron (NCS) of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) MIke had to suspend his membership when he moved to Cornelius, NC, 20 miles North of Charlotte, NC. The CAF, originally known as the Confederate Air Force, started in 1947 with a handful of former WWII pilots and aviation enthusiasts. It was established for the preservation and pursuit of flying WWII and pre-WWII era aircraft. The CAF has now grown to become a world-wide organization. Mike is a pilot sponsor of the NCS Vultee BT-13, a primary WWII era trainer, and the Stinson L-5, which was principally used for reconnaissance, but, served many tasks well.
Mike has had the opportunity to gain much experience over the years and has many stories to tell about some of his aviation exploits from flying skydivers in bare-bones equipped Cessna 182s over the Virginia countryside to Part 135 freight hauling in Beechcraft B58 Barons.
Call Mike at (704) 650-3032 or email him at mike@southeastaircraftsales.com any time you wish, whether you are buying, selling, looking, or just want to talk about aircraft or aviation. He enjoys all of those conversations equally as much.
